ElectroNet Services Ltd

Electronet Services, the contracting subsidiary company of Westpower Ltd commenced operating in October 1997 and now provides electrical services Coastwide and across the South Island.

The main office is situated on Tainui Street, Greymouth with depots in Reefton, Hokitika and Harihari.

ElectroNet Services currently employ approximately 115 staff involved in Asset Management, Information Technology, Electrical and Lines divisions. Other company resources include our extensive fleet of line trucks, utility vehicles, electrical vans, hiab and bucket trucks. The company has an excellent reputation for having the resources and expertise to compete at the highest level in the electrical field.

Training and Development

Due to the growth of the company and future workload of ElectroNet Services, staff numbers are growing steadily and to play its part in addressing the nationwide skills shortage ElectroNet Services have established a programme of training new people in the electrical industry in recent years through both apprenticeships and scholarships. There are currently fifteen people undertaking apprenticeships and five scholarship students progressing at various stages on their chosen pathways. ElectroNet prides itself on being a first class employer, progressive in upskilling its staff to keep up with an ever-evolving and challenging technology.

Business and Consumer Electrical

The electrical division has also benefited from the growth in building activity. Cyril Shirley has been able to grow his teams to ensure that new dwellings and industrial buildings are able to supported by our teams of qualified electricians.

Also responsible for managing sub-station build projects, Cyril has a built up a team of electrical fitters who can take on any sub-station build contract and bring it in on time and within budget.

Lines

The lines maintenance and construction division provides the capability to maintain and build distribution, sub-transmission and transmission lines. Over the past five years the projects that have been completed by the lines division have helped to build a team that is capable of tackling any job in any condition.

With over 25 years of experience working for ElectroNet and its predecessor Westpower, Operations Manager Kent Martin has been closely involved with all major line build projects, and provides advice and support to many external customers.
